Scope and Contents note
This subseries includes manuscripts of speeches, plays, poems, and other literary works created by Oscar Wilde and his coterie. Many are in the author's hand. Virtually all of the titles given to the works have been supplied by later catalogers and scholars. They are arranged alphabetically by author or originator, and then by title. Further arrangement is by date.

Physical Description
Ms., 304 p. Notebook kept by Wilde as an undergraduate at Magdalen College, Oxford. The notes are based on lectures or Wilde’s reading of Greek and other philosophers and historians, notably Plato and Aristotle. Also contains notes on Livy, Herodotus, Mill, Spencer, Hume, Bacon, and Carlyle. Clark Library copy bound in cloth-backed marbled boards in brown morocco-backed slip-case. Binder’s title reads: "M.S. Note-Book, Oscar Wilde, Magdelen [sic] College Oxford."
