This collection contains ephemera, correspondence, and research files from and/or related to the Leadenhall Press collection compiled by Matthew Young in his research for his book Field & Tuer, The Leadenhall Press: A Checklist. Items include advertisements designed by Andrew White Tuer for Pears' Soap, as well as advertisement and packaging for Stickphast Paste, Tuer's personal bookplates, and some correspondence written to Tuer. The collection also contains Matthew Young's research files for his book and his collection of Leadenhall Press and Andrew Tuer material, including photocopies of archival materials, correspondence and photographs from other Leadenhall collectors and researchers, and copies of reviews of Young's work. This collection also includes digital files produced by Young, which are currently unavailable to researchers.

The materials described in this finding aid are only a small portion of the Leadenhall Press collection of Matthew Young. Most of this collection consists of printed books, which are cataloged separately in the library's online catalog, UC Library Search. These books can be found by searching for the phrase, "Young, Matthew Mclennan, former owner."
