Scope and Contents
Materials from the archives of the Bodley Head and the collection of Max Reinhardt (accession MS.2024.005). Includes correspondence to John Lane from W.H. White and Co. (Riverside Press), Leonard Smithers, Matthew Bell and others, as well as lists and inventories of Beardsley's work from Smithers and other documents and correspondence related to Lane's attempts to purchase the rights to Beardsley's works around 1900. These materials also include correspondence from 1968 regarding Malcolm Pinhorn's article "An Important Discovery" about Beardsley, Lane, and Smithers (in addition to a photocopy of this article).
