This series contains notebooks and sketchbooks compiled by Vance Gerry, which feature drawings, notes, and paintings related to his printing work as well as to his other interests and his travels. Sketchbooks contain a wide variety of drawing and painting subjects and include: sketches of friends, family, and actors on television; landscapes from various travels; typography sketches and other preparatory drawings for book projects; drawings and plans for toy trains and figurines. Gerry's notebooks mainly contain textual notes (very few drawings) taken during conferences or research trips, as well as personal record-keeping and lists of train and toy purchases.
