Physical Description

37 page manuscript notebook in Hannah More's hand. Contains table talk, conversations of visitors to Barley Wood, and anecdotes. Final 14 pages used for transcribing quotations. Original marble wrappers. Inscription on cover "This little book belonged to Hannah More and is in her or her sister Paty's writing (C.B. Pigot)." This cannot be written in Patty More's hand, because she died in 1819. This notebook is transcribed in Women, Morality & Advice Literature, pages 69-77. Purchase, 1996 (MS.1996.004).
