Series 6 contains materials and documents related to the Nicholson and Cleghorn families, particularly Alfred John Nicholson and Mary Cleghorn Nicholson. Items include photographs, correspondence, notebooks, clippings, estate files, deeds and mortgage documents. Though most items date from the 19th century, there are a large number of historical Cleghorn documents dating from the early 17th century also included here, possibly items collected by Hedley Hope-Nicholson as a part of his genealogical research.
