Physical Description

90 letters from various correspondents.

In October 2024, these materials were reorganized and are now filed alphabetically by correspondent. Letters appear to be largely professional in nature and correspondents include writers, suffragists, and politicians; some appear to be from personal friends, but most are not particularly intimate in tone. For most correspondents, there is only a single letter, though there are a small handful for whom there are 2-3 letters. Many letters are annotated by Lady Wilde with the correspondent's name, sometimes supplying their real name and their pseudonym (for example, Owen Roe aka Eugene Davis), while other annotations are more descriptive (the most fanciful of these being "laudations by an unknown" for a letter by a stranger whose name is hard to read, but is possibly Mary McNamara).

Correspondents whose names are legible include: Mary Alford, Patrick Bardan, Louisa S. Bevington, Esmeralda Boyle, Fay Brodie-Innes, Agnes B. Cahill, Lady Archibald Campbell, Helen Savile Clarke, Henry Coulter, J. Barnard Davis, Jane Davis, Richard Davy, Adelaide Detchon, James Dixon, J. Forbes-Robertson, Rosamond Francillon, John T. Gilbert, Thomas P. Gill, Frederick Goold, Augusta Jane Goold, Sir William Gregory, Alice Hart, Grace Hawthorne, John Henniker Heaton, Sir George Hodson, Patrick Kennedy, Anne Charlotte Leffler, I.J. McCarthy, Laura McLaren (Baroness Aberconway), Sarah Marshall, Helen Mathers, L.P. Meehan, Florence Fenwick Miller, Augustus M. Moore, Clara B. Moore, Clotilde Parigiani Morosini, Clara H. Moulton, John O'Connor, Ellen Mary O'Day, Annie Isabella Oppenheim, Alphonse Pages, Luciano G. Paggi, Ion Perdicaris, Julius Rodenberg, Owen Roe, Dora Russell, Henrietta Russell, Comte de Saffray, Alice J. Shaw, John S.
