Biographical Note

WAC Jr.'s son, William Andrews Clark, III ("Tertius") was born in Butte, Montana in 1903. He was a mining engineer and a technology enthusiast, interested in both still and moving photography as well as flight. He was killed in a plane crash in 1932, while learning to fly “blind” – with only instruments and a hooded cockpit. He was survived by his wife, Thelma Wyatt Clark, a stepdaughter, Audrey Johnson, and William Wyatt Clark, a young son listed in Tertius’s obituaries as “being considered for adoption” by the family.
